The
Banaras Hindu University admits girls and boys in classes VI, IX and XI in
Central Hindu Girls’ School and Central Hindu Boys’ School each
year.

TO KEEP CHILDREN SAFE during the current COVID-19 pandemic, the BHU School Board
has decided NOT
TO CONDUCT SET-2020.
Consequently, NEW METHOD OF ADMISSION HAS BEEN ADOPTED for following classes, as
under:
(i)
CLASS
VI & CLASS IX: THROUGH
E-LOTTERY.
1.
Admission
of BHU employee ward applicants will be carried out first.
2.
Remaining
seats will be allocated by e-lottery according to given priority sequence:
-
a)
First
Lot:
3% of the seats will be allocated to Differently Abled (Divyang (OH)) applicants.
b)
Second
Lot:
I.
Total
no. of ST candidates will be calculated from First Lot and remaining seats
reserved for ST candidates will be allocated.
II.
Total
no. of SC candidates will be calculated from First Lot and remaining seats
reserved for SC candidates will be allocated.
Note:
SC/ST seats will be filled only after interchanging the seat as per the
availability of registered applicants i.e. vacant SC seats can be filled by ST
applicants and vice-versa.
III.
Total
no. of OBC-NCL candidates will be calculated from First Lot and remaining seats
reserved for OBC-NCL candidates will be allocated
c)
Third
Lot: After Second
Lot, remaining seats
will be allocated to
unreserved applicants.
3.
Waiting list of each Lot will be prepared separately.
(ii)
CLASS
XI: ON
THE BASIS OF MERIT OF CLASS X.
The
admission in class XI will be made on the basis of percentage of marks obtained
by the candidate in class X examination of the board and calculated
as:
Merit
(Percent marks obtained) = (Total marks obtained / Total maximum marks of
Subjects) X 100 In
Boards where marks obtained are given in terms of percentage, such as is CISCE,
New Delhi, the merit may be calculated as:

subjects
If
two or more candidates are clubbed at the same merit on the basis of Class X
marks then the inter se merit will be
determined as given in Table 1.

two or more candidates are having the same marks even when calculated as per
Table No. 1, then further merit will be determined taking subject combinations
as given in TABLE 2:

If
two or more candidates have same merit even after calculation as given in TABLE
2, then the age of the candidates be taken into consideration and the candidate
older in age be considered higher in merit.
3.
It
has been decided to reserve 27%
seats in all fresh admissions for Other Backward Classes-Non-Creamy Layer
(OBC-NCL) besides
15% and 7.5% reservation for the SC and ST candidates
respectively.
4.
IN
VIEW OF ABOVE CHANGES, THE ADMISSION PORTAL WILL BE OPENED FOR FRESH
APPLICATIONS FOR THE CANDIDATES OF ALL CATEGORIES.
5.
OPPORTUNITY
WILL BE GIVEN TO THE CANDIDATES WHO HAVE ALREADY APPLIED TO UPDATE THEIR
APPLICATION FORMS AS GIVEN BELOW.
a.
The
candidates who have applied in General category and belong to OBC-NCL category
must update their category for all classes VI, IX & XI.
b.
The
candidates who have applied for class XI (all groups) must upload their class X
mark-sheet and other related details.
6.
IN
CASE, ALREADY REGISTERED CANDIDATES WANT, THEY CAN WITHDRAW THEIR CANDIDATURE.
THEIR FEE WILL BE REFUNDED TO THE SAME ACCOUNT THROUGH WHICH IT WAS PAID.
HOWEVER, NO
FEE REFUND CLAIM WILL BE ENTERTAINED AFTER ONLINE PORTAL IS
CLOSED.
7.
Fee
for the OBC candidates is same as the General candidates - ₹400/-

OTHER BACKWARD CLASS -
NON-CREAMY LAYER
27%
reservation to candidates belong to OBC-NCL category will be provided in
different classes. The authorities to issue the OBC certificate are the same as
in case of SC/ST). The caste in the OBC certificate will be those only which are
in the list of Central Govt. Further the OBC certificate should clearly mention
that the candidate is not under creamy layer and the
certificate should not be older than six months. However, if an OBC
candidate seeks admission under some other category (for example PWD/PC
(OH)/Employee Ward etc.) the candidate should satisfy the minimum eligibility
requirement for that category.
